ASH WEDNESDAY SCHEDULE – March 5
Sacramental Blessing with ashes at all liturgies
Masses at 7:00am and 8:00am
Prayer Service at 12 noon, 3:30pm and 7:00pm
During Lent, the Church calls the faithful to bring a spirit of penance into their daily lives through fasting and abstinence.
These practices include:
FASTING - requires that only one full meal be taken per day. Two other, smaller meals may be taken during the day to maintain physical strength but these two meals together should not equal a full meal in quantity. Fasting is an obligation for every Catholic from age 18 until age 59.
ABSTINENCE – All the faithful who have reached 14 years of age are required to abstain totally from meat on Ash Wednesday and the Fridays of Lent. Those who are not specifically obliged to fast or to abstain are encouraged to join in those disciplines to the extent that they are able.
A note: Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of Fast and abstinence. All Fridays in Lent are days of abstinence.
2025 LENTEN MISSION – Sunday March 9 and Monday March 10
St. Ann’s, our ‘sister’ parish, invites us to share in a 2-night Mission at 7pm on Sunday, March 9 and Monday, March 10 featuring Catholic Speaker Paul Koleske. The sessions will be in Church (101 Cromwell Ave) at 7pm.
Theme of the Mission
“Igniting the Light of Christ Within You”
Paul’s ministry teaches the listeners how and why they are already wired to succeed in building themselves and the church while discovering God’s purpose for their lives. He shares practical techniques people can use to increase their connection with the Presence of the Holy Spirit, the Risen Christ’s gift to His disciples.
Sunday, March 9th: “Connecting with the Light of Christ”
Monday, March 10th: “Experiencing the Light of Christ”
